The SEND CODE of PRACTICE states that teachers and staff need to be aware of how to support pupils with specific learning difficulties and disabilities.

Schools must use their best endeavours to offer high quality teaching which is differentiated and personalised for all pupils and in addition high quality special educational provision – that which is additional to or different from what is provided to all – for those who need it.’

Class and subject teachers, supported by the senior leadership team, should make regular assessments of progress for all pupils. Where pupils are falling behind or making inadequate progress given their age and starting point, they should be given extra support.’

Dyslexia Understood offers a range of training and workshops for schools, which will help delegates to understand the associated areas of difficulty. The training incorporates theoretical information based on current research, as well as practical advice and strategies that will empower delegates to be able to provide the appropriate support for pupils.

Dyslexia Understood also offers workshops for parents to help them understand the difficulties their child is experiencing and how to best support them at home.
